Here is the latest update, the drawing has now been transfered to the canvas. I will probably add the tip of the lions tail coming back in to the canvas, just to mirroe the buffalo horn

More basic blocking in of the body – now you can really get a feeling for the bright light coming across the body. Next I will start to work on the remaining unpainted areas of the body, which will show another change in the light – hope your all enjoying it so far

Great news – I got the cover of April’s Edition of Artist & Illustrators Magazine! With my tiger portrait!

Not only that, but I also have a 3 page spread inside!
On another note, I’m still working hard on the new oil painting Ebook – I’ve listened to everyones suggestions, so it’s taking a little longer to complete – I think it will be worth the wait though

I thoroughly enjoyed creating my latest Cape Buffalo studies, and from the emails I have received, lots of my visitors enjoyed them too.
When my gorilla painting has dried I have plans to do quite a few more studies, they could be anything at the moment, but elephants and Hippo are currently foremost in my mind – so if anyone is interested in those studies please just drop me an email – Paintings and studies can be reserved for collectors with no commitment to purchase.

As you can see from the latest painting update I am now working my way down the painting. All those stripes can make your eyes go real funny, so I can only paint 2 zebra at a time before having a break. Ha… Not too many sessions left now before all the painting will be blocked in with it’s 1st coat of oil paint. Then the real work begins- bringing this painting to life!
